In the final qualifier, he said with the hot weather making the track loose, combined with old tires he admitted it was difficult to drive but still came home with a 4th for the round. For the final he will make a small change to help find more rotation in the car and with that and all drivers on new tires he feels he can fight it out for the win.
Andy Moore said he was hoping for 2nd on the grid but Nico beat his time and will instead start from 3rd on the grid later today. Team mate Jin Sawada starts just behind in 4th, his final run being hampered somewhat by a missing top deck screw, the Japanese racer saying his car felt not too bad considering this.
Starting from position 5 on the grid, Felix Law ran his final qualifying set of Sweep tires in Q4 to give him 5th for the round, his strategy of saving tires for today netting him a grid position in the top half of the A-main field. Behind, Hay Lai, Carven Chow, Jan Ratheisky and Fai Ho complete the top 9 drivers that qualify directly into the main final, a place reserved for the winner of the B-main.
